Seneschal's Clerk (Operations Administrative Assistant)

LOCATION: Lympne Castle, Hythe

You should be able to work well within a dedicated and resourceful team to support the Castle Seneschal (Events & Operations Manager) in ensuring the Lympne Castle operations run efficiently to leave a lasting impression on our guests. Location: Lympne Castle, Hythe

About the job: This position will be responsible for assisting the Seneschal in the administration of Lympne Castle’s busy operations.

Responsibilities:

Assist with events, restaurant, wedding and retail merchandise operations at the Castle including:

Answering phone calls and respond to emails in a timely and professional manner;

Obtain and organize quotes and facilitate purchases and deliveries;

Organizing and identifying suppliers to facilitate events/operations;

Greeting suppliers and other visitors including, but not limited to, customers and guests) to the castle as needed;

Performing general administrative duties including but not limited to filing, purchase order coordination, processing receipts and organizing information;

Record, document & organize detailed meeting notes;

Running and organizing the Seneschal’s diary.

This is a 7-day /week hospitality operation. As such, weekend and evening work will be required.

To Be Considered, The Following Criteria Need To Be Met:

  • Proven experience in administration;
  • Strong IT skills;
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment;
  • Knowledge of hospitality is an asset;
  • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as required;
