Frequently Asked Questions
Find everything you need to plan your visit to the castle
How accessible is the Castle?
Due to the Castle being a Grade I listed building there are some areas where we cannot adapt the pathways meaning that some areas are not as accessible as others. The courtyard and the terrace are the best outdoor options for an outdoor ceremony if you have guests with limited mobility. The ground floor of the castle is accessible however there may just be a different route around as opposed to the usual flow of traffic.
Is there parking on site?
There is plenty of parking available at the castle and along the castle drive.
Do you have accommodation on site?
We currently have 4 cottages on site sleeping up to 20 guests. All cottages have private bedrooms with a shared living space. Contact us for further information regarding castle bedrooms.
Can we provide our own catering?
All catering at the Castle is provided in-house. Outside food or external catering is not permitted on the premises, this is inclusive of celebration cakes. (Wedding cakes are permitted with relevant PLI and allergen documents)
Can we have candles as part of our decoration?
We prefer that LED candles be used for safety reasons. However, if you choose to use a naked flame, it must be placed in a suitable vase or container. The flame must not extend above the top edge of the vase.
Do you have a speaker on site?
We do have a PA system and microphone available, but this is intended for background music, speeches, and announcements only. It is not suitable for evening receptions or party music.
Do you provide place cards?
While we do not supply place cards, we’re more than happy to assist with placing them according to the Table Plan.
Can we use confetti?
Confetti is welcome, but we kindly ask that it be biodegradable.
Are fireworks allowed at the Castle?
Due to the close proximity of Port Lympne and its animals, fireworks are unfortunately not permitted at the Castle however, drones, sparklers and sparkler fountains are permitted and make for stunning photographs!
Do you allow dry ice fog for the dancefloor?
Unfortunately the use of dry ice is not permitted within the Castle
