Our story begins

The Beg-inning

The Naughty Dog (pronounced “Naw” + “Tea Dog”) was established in 2024 for dogs. Essentially, it is a sitting place where the odd canine walking near Lympne Castle could grab some water or a treat. Much to the annoyance of the owners of the restaurant, it became apparent that most dogs were accompanied by an owner or dog walker who would inevitably request the same, but with likely a preference for cups instead of bowls and possibly a place to sit. With great trepidation, the owners set out to accommodate the canines and their guests. Chairs were purchased, a kitchen was built, and forks and knives were reluctantly supplied for those that did not walk on all fours. Now the dog menu (meaning the menu for the dogs) included locally sourced and ethically produced dog treats, including pies, stews, and even beer. The concern was that the human guests may expect the same thought and treatment and, well, humans are people too, so the owners were again forced to accommodate. We are pleased to advise that The Naughty Dog is now people-friendly.

Sharing Plate

Ice-cream, 4 home-made sugar donuts, peanut brittle, sponge toffee cake, toffee honeycomb, 2 types of popping candy, berries, and chocolate sauce Note: this dessert is strongly recommended if you enjoy the people you are dining with!

Why we serve avocado mint pupsicles and pupside down cones: Winston Churchill famously remarked, "Take away this pudding! It has no theme!" This quip, often attributed to Churchill, reflects his high standards and aversion to mediocrity, particularly when it came to food, including desserts.

WE HAVE A PEOPLE MENU TOO

A Tail or Two About Where we Source From

No bones about it, just as people have different dietary requirements and preferences, so do dogs. At The Naughty Dog, we are striving to serve our customers well…including canines. For this reason, we have sourced from various suppliers to create a menu for dogs that is focused on health and the environment:
Our chews are provided by “Canine Menu” – they are fully digestible and have been carefully selected to be long-lasting, clean and low in odour. The chews are wrapped in recyclable packaging for no-fuss serving and contribute to a more sustainable future by making use of 100% natural products that are wasted in their tonnes every year. The treat pots and dog dinner bowls are provided by “Sir Woofchester’s”, created by a team with the goal of helping dogs (and their pet-parents) to live their best life! Their products are grain-free & natural ingredients, working towards a carbon-neutral status. The Dog-ice lollies (frozen paw pops) are provided by “Woof & Brew” and developed working with veterinary experts. They are a healthy dog treat brewed with 100% herbs. Lastly, the Bark Brew dog ‘beer’ is a product of “Sir Woofchester’s” – as the beverage is alcohol-free we will not require ID for your dog.
